Tournaments allow players to battle against each other in a competitive environment in order to get pansuns, titles and various other items.

Requirements[edit]

In order to join a tournament a player needs to fulfill two requirements:

Joining a Tournament[edit]

After navigating to the "Tournaments" section in the menu the player will see three entries where they will be able to see when each tournaments will be held. The tournaments are held each week at specific times and are as follows:

  • Sunday, 1 am UTC
  • Sunday, 9 am UTC
  • Sunday, 5 pm UTC

By clicking on the "Subscribe" button the player will receive a notification 30 minutes before the tournament begins. Subscribing only sends a notification and is not related to the registration process. Once the starting time is reached the player will be able to join the tournament using the "join" button in the same tournament menu. Only players which join the tournament are able to see the tournament brackets.

Tournament Leagues[edit]

Each tournament consists of 16 players (minimum 13) and players will be grouped together in four different leagues according to their current TMR value. The leagues are as follows:

League Name League Emblem League TMR Range League Name League Emblem League TMR Range
Bronze

0-799 Silver

800-1199
Gold

1200-1499 Diamond

1500+

If 13 out of 16 players in the same league join a tournament, the remaining 3 players will be selected depending on how close their TMR is to the league range. If there are less than 13 players in a certain league TMR range, they will be assigned to the next lower league. Since the tournaments will be conducted with 16 players there is a possibility that some players are unable to participate. The affected players will be informed through a notification. Multiple tournaments for the same league are possible at the same time. In that case the average TMR of each bracket within the same leagues will be grouped together.

Tournament Procedure[edit]

The tournaments will be held in the single elimination format. This means that after each round the number of participants will be halved. Each player has to win five rounds in a row to win the tournament. The first four rounds will be held as a single match. The final fifth round will be played as a "best of 3" meaning the player who reaches 2 wins first will win the fifth round and the tournament. After losing the tournament, players are still able to spectate the tournament in which they participated.

Restrictions[edit]

Team configurations cannot be changed during the tournament but the player is able to select a different team for each match. Also the turn timers are lower comparing to a regular competitive match. The following table shows all differences:

Type Competitive Timer Tournament Timer
Pick and Ban turn 20 Seconds 20 seconds
Pick and Ban reserve 40 seconds 40 seconds
Match turn 40 seconds 30 seconds
Match reserve 120 seconds 90 seconds

Rewards[edit]

Players will receive different rewards based on their performance.

Pansun[edit]

The amount of pansuns the player receives is based on the number of rounds a player wins as well as the league of the player. The following table shows all possible pansun rewards:

Update History[edit]

  • Patch 1.4
    • They will now consist on 16 people, with a minimum of 13, instead of requiring 32 players with a minimum of 25.
    • The Kudo and achievement/trophy associated to taking part in an in-game tournament will now pop-up if the tournament you sign up for falls through because of lack of players, so players on the lower ranks can now be more at ease.
  • Patch 1.0.2
    • The winners of the Diamond, Gold and Silver tournaments will now also receive 1 Telomere Hotfix: Trait Swap.
    • The players that end up in second place in a Diamond or Gold tournaments will now also receive 1 Telomere Hotfix: Trait Swap.
  • Early Access 0.7.5
    • We’ve changed the minimum number of players for a Tournament to 21.
    • Before, the system would try to pack as many players as possible in a tournament until it was filled entirely, even if it meant that 10 other players would not get a tournament at all. Now, it will take into account the number of participants and split them so it can create as many tournaments per league as possible.
    • 👥We’ve revisited and improved the current Tournament rewards so they’re more consistent:
    • We’ve improved and upped the rewards for winning a Tournament.
    • We’ve also added rewards for the top 4 players of each Tournament. These don’t affect the current Pansun rewards nor the rewards for winning; these only add to them.
