Fishing
Fishing is an activity in Temtem.
Description[edit]
Fishing gives the user another option to encounter Temtem, so long as they have a Fishing Rod. One can be obtained by completing the Fishcraft quest in Nuru Lodge. Once obtained, face any body of water and, if a fish hook icon appears above the water, cast the line to start fishing. The Temtem will bite 3 times and the player has to react to each bite. After the third bite, an untamed Temtem encounter will occur. What you encounter will depend on where you fish.
Koish of the Week[edit]
Weekly Competition[edit]
Every week the Nuru Lodge will hold a competition in order to find a Koish with specific physical features. You can look at your Koish of the Week at the board or show your caught Koish to the Nuru Lodge receptionist which are both located in the southwest corner inside the Nuru Lodge hut. Matching four out of five possible features (also called a "4/5 Koish") will give you a small amount of rewards from the designated loot pool. Finding a Koish with five out of five possible features (also called a "5/5 Koish") will give you a moderate or large amount of rewards from the designated loot pool. Each reward can be collected once per week. Showing a Koish with all correct features before showing one with four out of five correct features will give you both possible rewards at the same time but you still cannot collect another fishing reward for the corresponding week. Finding a 5/5 Koish is guaranteed after reaching 500 Koish battles during the same week (or 200 if the player has a Koish Lure). Every week, the subspecies of the Koish of the Week changes. The weekly competition resets every Monday at 8 am UTC. You can still find all the Koish subspecies in Sea-Queen's Aquarium near Sillaro River at any time (using the Fishing Rod).
Note: Should a player defeat or flee from their 5/5 Koish, the counter will reset. Thus the player will be guaranteed another 5/5 Koish in another 500 battles (or 200 with a Koish Lure).

Restrictions and Features[edit]
Each player will receive a different Koish every week. You can only show a Koish with you as the Original Tamer and must have been tamed in that week. The five different features are as follows:
- Whiskers: There are two variants of that feature. Short and long whiskers.
- Fin: There are two variants of that feature. Short and long fins.
- Lower Tail: There are five variants of that feature for Koish found at Nuru Lodge, six if found in a natural spawn location. Each color differs depending on the type of Koish.
- Middle Tail: There are five variants of that feature for Koish found at Nuru Lodge, six if found in a natural spawn location. Each color differs depending on the type of Koish.
- Upper Tail: There are five variants of that feature for Koish found at Nuru Lodge, six if found in a natural spawn location. Each color differs depending on the type of Koish.

Koish Lure[edit]
After giving a Koish with four out of five correct features the player will receive an item called Koish Lure. This item is active when fishing near the lodge, and will ensure that the fins and whiskers features are always matching, thus increasing the chance to encounter a Koish with five out of five features by 4 times. (The player does not have to activate the item.) Possessing the Koish Lure also guarantees a Koish encounter with five out of five features after 200 battles during the same week. The Koish Lure disappears at the weekly reset or if all rewards from the Koish of the Week challenge have been claimed and has to be obtained again in order to benefit from its advantages.
Note: Battles before receiving the Lure will count toward the Lure. Thus, if the player receives the Lure after 225 battles, the next battle will be a 5/5.
Reward Overview[edit]

Even though the rewards seem similar to the upper list the amount of different items which you are able to receive is greatly increased, reaching from 3 to 7 different items. The amount of acquired pansuns is also increased.

Similarly, furniture and cosmetics rewards are selected from items for sale in furniture shops/boutiques or some options exclusive to loot pools.
Compensation System[edit]
A compensation system increases the chance to get a rare reward every time the player does not obtain a rare reward. As soon as the player obtains said reward from the lootpool this increasement will reset to its original value. This system helps to reduce randomness and ensures rare rewards if a player continues to complete the activity.
Trivia[edit]
- It's possible to obtain a 4/5 or a 5/5 Koish through Breeding. The requirements to show the Koish still apply, so you must obtain and hatch the egg during that week.
