Kauren (#101) is a Earth Temtem.
It evolves from Kuri after 16 levels and is the final evolution of it.

Description

Physical Appearance

Kauren is a quadrupedal brown Temtem with a roughly canine body. Its head and upper jaw are covered by a large bone covering that narrows towards its snout. Extending out behind the bone are long, white segmented horns, which branch out into two prongs at the tip. Kauren has angular red eyes, toothy jaws, and a ruffle of fur along the back of its head, and its neck is covered in a large, red bandana-like marking that tapers down on its chest to a large central point and two smaller side points. Like Kuri, it has a jagged, cream-colored underbelly, a cream-colored fur collar on its back that forms three pointed tufts, and a stubby tail. Kauren's canine legs have dark red spots around the knees that become solid dark red fur on the lower legs, and its dark red paws each have two very long toes.

Not to be confused with their previous evolution stage, Kauren develops stone-hard horns and skull extensions - used for digging out roots, defense and status-signalling within the herd.

• The owner of the Prancing Gnu in Vumbi compares the "mythological" gnu to a Kauren "with the horns going the other way."
• Kauren has an emote on the official Temtem Discord.

Name Origin

• Kauren's name is derived from Kura (Hyena in Hausa) and Hauren Giwa (Ivory in Hausa).
  • Internally at Crema, the names Skulldog and Kauren were tied, Crema decided to go with Kauren to keep consistency since its pre-evolution won with Kuri by a huge margin.
